Babies and under 5s

Sunday morning 10:30am

Usually we begin each Sunday morning service all together in the main Church and then all under-18s are invited to go out to their age-specific group activities. For babies and toddlers aged 0-2 we have a crèche room with baby toys and simple craft activities. Young children aged 2-5 attend a group called ‘Sparklers’ where they enjoy games, crafts, toys and stories about Jesus. See the ‘Children and Teenagers’ page for details of the activities for over-5s. Please feel free to contact us if you have any queries about this session, or just come along and try it out.

Sunbeams – Wednesday 9:30am until 11:30am

Babies, toddlers and pre-school aged children are warmly invited to attend this play group along with their parent or carers. This takes place in the church hall where there is plenty of room for toys and trundle trucks. For babies there is a large play-mat surrounded by comfy beanbags for the adults. The toddlers love the craft activities and play-dough area. We join together for snack and story-time and finish the morning with a group singing time. The lovely helpers also keep the adults well-looked after with tea, coffee and biscuits. More information is available from Katie on 07464 824462.

Tea, Toast and Time for Thinking – Thursday 10:30am until noon

TeaThis session is really for the parents and carers of small children but is included here because they are welcome to bring along babies and children under 5. Each session starts with tea, toast and chat. We then look at a Bible study or video followed by a time for discussion. The atmosphere is relaxed and we put toys out to keep the little ones entertained after they’ve finished their toast. We usually meet in the upstairs lounge. More information is available from Sue on 0114 2307556 or just drop in.

Pre-school – Weekdays

Pre schoolAlthough this is not an activity run by the church we have included it here as it meets on our premises in the Primary room and we, as a church, are keen to support it by raising awareness. Several of our church members have connections with the pre-school either through having worked there or having had children that have attended and would highly recommend it. For more information please see the pre-school website here:
