Worship and Housegroups

Worship group toddler service

Sunday morning Service 10:30am

This is our main Service each week. Everyone is welcome to come along. It usually lasts around an hour and it includes lively worship music in a mixture of modern and traditional styles, prayers, Bible readings and teaching. We usually include the taking of Holy Communion during the service once a month. The teaching is led by Local Preachers or our Minister Tim. During the service age-specific groups for children are also run (see here for more information). After the service we invite everyone to stay for tea, coffee and a chat. Prayer is also available (see here for more information on prayer).

On the first Sunday of each month our Service is in a ‘café worship’ format where we sit around tables (instead of in rows) and enjoy refreshments throughout. These services usually include the chance for some group discussions or short activities. Breakfast of toast or pastries is available from 10am before these special services.

Throughout the pandemic we have made our Sunday morning services available online. When our Church re-opens after lock-down we plan to continue filming the services for those unable to attend in person. Details of how to view our online services are sent out by email with the Church notices – see the Contact us page for information on how to receive these.

Wednesday morning Service 10am

On most Wednesday mornings of the year at 10am there is a gathering of about twenty people in the Church. We gather for a short time of worship, prayer, teaching and sharing. Someone plays the piano for the singing. Once a month we have a Holy Communion service. Those attending are mainly older people and include folk from other churches. At the end of the service there is an opportunity for coffee and conversation. We stay seated in a circle throughout, which adds to the informality. If you would like to come along to find out if this appeals to you, then please do. You are welcome.

Housegroups

Many people in the church belong to a house group and meet regularly to pray together, read the Bible and talk about the Christian faith. If you are interested in joining a house group contact Sue: Tel 0114 2307556. The groups meet on various different times and days of the week and some groups meet more often than others.
