We offer many activities for children and teenagers throughout the week which are set out below. For more details on any of them please feel free to contact us and we can put you in touch with our group leaders. We take safeguarding very seriously – information on how to view our safeguarding policy can be found on the policies page.
Sunday morning 10:30am – Age-specific groups for all ages
Usually we begin each Sunday morning service all together in the main church and then all under-18s are invited to go out to their age-specific group activities. For primary-aged children we have our ‘Sparks’ group in the church hall, with lots of games, crafts and songs. For secondary-school aged young people we have our ‘Fireworks’ group which meet in the upstairs lounge to chat, explore faith, support each other, be creative and help others. See the ‘Babies and under-5s’ page for details of the activities for little ones.
Tuesdays 3:30pm to 5pm - Paint the rainbow art group - Ages 11-16
An art group for neurodiverse children to have fun experimenting with art. See the flyer here for more information.
Wednesdays 3:30pm - Lighthouse after school club – Ages 5-11
The children enjoy lots of activities such as crafts, games, singing, a Bible story, a film and dramas in which the children either act or watch.
Thursdays 6:30pm – Girls Brigade – Ages 5 and above
This is our local group of the national Girls Brigade organisation, which is passionate about helping girls and women engage with real life and the Christian faith through a wide range of activities.
Fridays 8pm – Lampstand – Ages 11-18
This is our youth club for secondary aged children and teenagers. The format is very relaxed with a snack and chat area and a choice of activities such as video games, group games, pool and sports. For more info see the flyer here.
Saturday afternoons or evenings – Pantomime – Ages 5-18
Our drama group ‘Spotlight’ produces an annual pantomime. We welcome all children and young people who wish to take part. Our pantomimes are traditional entertainment for all the family, with jokes old and new, songs and dances, and plenty of audience participation. We also include a Christian dimension that fits naturally into the story. We have a dedicated Spotlight website which can be found here: bentsgreenspotlight.org
While the children and young people are practising in the Hall we run ‘Café Panto’ for the parents in the Church. It is a chance to relax, meet other parents and enjoy refreshments.
